How much does it cost to make plastic, what are some economic pros and cons on making plastic products?

im doing a project on polymers and plastics and for my PMR chart i need some advantages and disadvantages for economic reasons for plastic products, including recycling costs. ow much money does it cost to run a factory how much money does it cost the consuer to buy a plastic product... so on and so forth

You are generalizing far too much by using the term "plastic". The costs and other economic considerations of different kinds of plastics are quite different. For example, there are simple plastics that almost anyone can make. Competition grew so tight in this area that Dow Chemical, which invented most of them, sold its factories and got out of the business because it was no longer profitable. On the other hand, there are high-end plastics that very few can make and which are, as a result, very profitable to those who make them. (Compare Kevlar and Spectra fibers to bulk low density polyethylene)
